  • Service
The Department of Housing provides all traditional, suite and apartment style residence halls are provided with local telephone service. ResNet provides service and support for these Department of Housing provided phone lines.

  • Jack Location / Size
Traditional- and suite-style residence halls have two active telephone jacks per room each with the same phone number. Apartment style residence halls have one active jack in each bedroom and one active jack in the living room all with the same phone number. Apartments with six or more bedrooms have two active jacks in the living room with two different numbers. Bedrooms A, B and C share one telephone number; the remaining bedrooms share the other.

The data and telephone jacks in each room are identical in size. Connecting a computer to the telephone jack will render all phones with that phone number inoperable. To resolve, disconnect all computers in the apartment or room and wait a few minutes for the phone service to recover.
